About Bullet
The concept of Bullet, while a manga style comic, is to challenge the stereotypical sell-out plotline, and empty-shell
character types, which is what majority of today's manga novels consist of. Instead of creating a strong, takes-no-bull type heroine,
I chose a character with as meek a personality as possible. While the story does heavily focus on a love triangle, it becomes (will become)
a very subtle part of the story, tragedy and lack of hope being the dominant factors in the story. The story is still
in very early stages, and appears to be your typical shoujo manga with a few sad notes, but over the next several chapters everything will drastically change,so stay tuned!
When I first thought of the storyline for Bullet back in 2006, I had just come up with a series of climactic moments
that I really wanted to tie together and illustrate in a manga format, as that was all I drew during that year. I began writing
the first draft around february 2006, reaching 124 pages over the next 2 years before I read over my comic, realizing how far
my art had jumped, and how much I disliked the pacing of the story. So I scrapped the first draft and began anew, this time
writing out the script for several volumes before beginning to draw. So be warned as you will still see a gradual change in
style and proportion from the first page to the latest.
The Story
Living far beyond the poverty line, mocked by her school, never having the company of a friend, food on the table,
or even a parent to take care of her, Nikita hopes for no happiness. But as her family's ominous past slowly begins to uncoil itself,
happiness becomes the least of her worries. Her only refuge becomes a man she cannot trust, a man without a heart. A murderer.
